9 KM/H...AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE
NEXT 24 HOURS OR SO. ON THE FORECAST TRACK...THE CENTER OF THE
DEPRESSION SHOULD MOVE FARTHER INLAND OVER EASTERN MEXICO THIS
AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 35 MPH...55 KM/H...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS. THE DEPRESSION IS EXPECTED TO WEAKEN AS IT MOVES INLAND...
AND IT SHOULD DEGENERATE INTO A REMNANT LOW PRESSURE AREA ON

IN THE TAMPICO AREA IS 1009 MB...29.80 INCHES.


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND

WIND...WIND GUSTS TO TROPICAL STORM FORCE ARE POSSIBLE IN A FEW
SQUALLS OVER PORTIONS OF THE MEXICAN STATES OF VERACRUZ AND
TAMAULIPAS THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

RAINFALL...THE DEPRESSION IS EXPECTED TO CAUSE TOTAL RAINFALL OF 3
TO 5 INCHES...WITH ISOLATED MAXIMUM AMOUNTS OF 10 INCHES...IN THE
MEXICAN STATES OF VERACRUZ AND TAMAULIPAS. THESE RAINS COULD CAUSE
LIFE-THREATENING FLASH FLOODS AND MUD SLIDES.
